Fife Migrants Forum has evolved through a number of people from the diverse ethnic community in Fife coming together with the goal of helping each other and other members of the community integrate into Fife and Scottish society. We have a shared vision of how this can be achieved; our motto could read ‘Integration through Volunteering’.
The vision of our project is for volunteers from the diverse range of ethnic communities in Fife and volunteers from the mainstream Fife community, coming together and pooling their talents to help those from the ethnic minority community who are less fortunate and need help and advice.
Fife Migrants Forum do not believe in working with ethnic minority communities in isolation from each other, we take great pride in our ‘United Nations’ of volunteers and how we work together with a common purpose. We believe most individuals face common problems, regardless of ethnicity and most problems can be solved with relatively little resources before serious intervention is required.
The more complex problems we refer to our partners whom we work with to achieve successful outcomes. We have built a good working relationship with Fife Council, NHS Fife, Fife Constabulary and Colleges. We are part of FORT (Fife Online Referral and Tracking system).
We provide help and advice through dedicated surgeries for ethnic minority individuals in cooperation with Citizen Advice and Rights Fife and Fife Law Centre.
